Sparky Prepares a Multi-Media, Online Training Course for Mental Health Professionals
After more than twenty years as a clinical psychologist, Dr. John Breeskin, aka Sparky the Mind Doc, is developing a multi-media, online course to mental health professionals just starting out in the field. The course—which will be offered completely free of charge—will also be offered to people who are interested in mental health issues.
Based on his book, “Training Wheels for Therapists”, the new course will cover everything Sparky wished he knew when he was just starting out.
A Non-Traditional Approach—Virtually Free of Charge
Once they have registered for the free course, students will participate in weekly virtual discussions based on assigned readings from the book. Subjects cover everything from basic life skills for healthy psychological functioning to essential boundary setting methods.
Sparky prides himself on being a non-traditional teacher, drawing in disparate elements of phenomenological, existential, and Gestalt psychology to present information in unexpected and poetic ways. He strongly prefers to be seen as the guide on the side rather than the sage on the stage.

A workshop presenter in more than fifty major cities in the United States and Europe, Sparky specializes in psycho-diagnostics and forensics. He started teaching at college level in 1966 and since then has taught “almost everything in the psychology catalog.”
